The Swedish Home Brewers Association (SHBF) is a non-profit association with about 1000 members.
The purpose of SHBF is to spread information about small scale beer brewing, and especially brewing at home.
SHBF annually organises the open Swedish Championship in home brewing. 2008 was the 20th time that the championship was held. It was held in Lövstabruk. There are normally more than 300 entries and the standard of the competing beers is very high.
We have a magazine, called Hembryggaren (The Home Brewer), that is published 4 times a year. The magazine is free for all members.
SHBF also runs courses in home brewing at different places in the country.
We also have an education program for beer judges like the BJCP. Many of our judges are annually asked to select the best beers at the Stockholm Beer Festival.
SHBF consist mostly of Swedish home brewers, but we also have some twenty foreign members.
Our web site is in Swedish, but if you like to find good recipes we have an excellent bank of recipes with 291 st recipes from 62 st different types of beer. The recipes are in Swedish but we think that you can figure it out anyway. You can find the recipes here. All measurements are in metric units and Celsius. Using google actually provides a fairly understandable version of this website.
We are not affiliated with AHA or any other organisation.
